SFC quarter-final draw is made

The draw for the quarter-finals of the Bank of Ireland Football Championship was made this evening, with four intriguing ties in prospect over the next two weeks.

First out of the hat was the pairing of Connacht champions Sligo and Cork, which will be the second meeting between the two in the All-Ireland Qualifiers.

Ulster champions Tyrone and Meath were next out of the hat in a repeat of the 1996 All-Ireland semi-final, which was won by the Royal County.

Leinster champions Dublin and Derry were next out, while reigning All-Ireland and Munster champions Kerry must overcome Monaghan if they are to advance to the semi-finals.
