Weekend games under threat again
Posted on January 14th, 2010 by Editor
Fresh snowfall and flooding are threatening this week’s rescheduled inter-county fixtures.
The Leinster Council will meet tomorrow morning to decide if this weekend’s O’Byrne Cup first round matches can go ahead following heavy snowfall in the midlands and east yesterday. In the event of the games taking place, Westmeath’s clash with DCU will be switched from Cusack Park to St. Loman’s all-weather pitch (Lakepoint Park) and Kilkenny’s tie against Offaly will be moved from Nowlan Park to Freshford.
Should the O’Byrne Cup games fall foul of the weather again, it’s likely that the Leinster Council will abandon the competition.
