Meaney confident ahead of Wee test
Laois midfielder Kevin Meaney is confident his side can come through this Sunday’s meeting with Louth and advance to the semi-finals of the Leinster SFC.
After their win over Carlow in the preliminary rounds and their recent defeat of Dublin in the provincial junior championship, Louth have gathered some momentum going into this clash, but Meany is confident that manager Sean Dempsey has tuned up Laois just right for Sunday’s game at Parnell Park.
“Sean has us back believing in ourselves,” said the O’Moore man.
“Things have been going well since the league finished, we’re after doing serious training and I think if we all play well we can beat Louth.
“We know they’re not going to - they’re going to play like an Ulster team - but it would be great if we could beat them. The crowds following us have been getting smaller but if we could win on Sunday, hopefully things would pick up again.”
