Under14/15 hurling trials
Fresh from their Tony Forrestal success the county under 14 team management are back and scouting for new talent and next Sunday morning are holding trials for next years under 15 panel at Portlaoise GAA grounds at 10.30am.
The team management of Tony Woods, Mick Scully, Kevin Lynch and Shay Kelly are opening up the panel again and any player that is 14 years old this year and considers himself up to county standard is invited to come along on Sunday morning as well as all the players on the present successful squad.
With the under 14 championships and leagues winding up the management have attended a host of games over the past few weeks looking for new talent but every club in the county is invited to send players that they consider of county standard along where they will be given trials over the coming weekends.
Then an extended panel will be formed to take part in a winter Cuchulainn Development Squad project where the players for next years under 15 county will be given expert coaching.
This is a great opportunity for young players to get involved in the county set up and give themselves a chance of representing their county in the coming years.
For any 14 year old hurler in the county who thinks that he is good enough and wants the opportunity to prove it then Portlaoise GAA grounds is the place to be on Sunday morning at 10.30am.
Under 14 All Ireland presentation night
Laois under 14 hurlers will receive their All Ireland medals at a presentation function on this Friday night September 26th in Errill Hall in the home village of winning captain Paddy Bergin.
All of the players will receive specially commissioned All Ireland medals and their parents and family are all invited along for what should be a real night of celebration with a special surprise guest expected along as well.
The presentation night will get underway in Errill Hall at 8.30.
