Sunderland offered Laois different date

Premier League outfit Sunderland have claimed they offered the Laois football squad an alternative date to the one they had requested to use their training facilities as part of their championship preparations.
Liam Kearns’ charges had sought the weekend after next to use the state-of-art facilities, but were turned down as the Premier League season will be reaching its conclusion by then.
A Sunderland spokesman said: “We did offer an alternative weekend for the team, but it didn’t fit in with their schedule.”
A number of GAA teams have used Sunderland’s training facilities in recent years, including the senior footballers of Westmeath and Kildare.
