He's better than Dalglish at least, probably as good a manager as we were going to get so best of luck to him
Super Joey Cole.....

Great bit of business by Hodgson.Sold Yossi for 5 million and get Cole for free..As much as i liked Rafa i dont think he would have ever talked Cole into coming to Liverpool.
David Silva overrated.

Torres is staying put for a while anyway.I feel this could be the year the Pool finally make a serious push for the title.Met this guy from Liverpool yesterday at the airport and he said Hodgson was trying to bring back Robbie Keane on loan for the season.

Oh yeah, supported them all my life, I've even gone to a few of their junior matches
If this sale gets dragged out, I look forward to the "Yanks Out, Other Yanks In" banner which is sure to appear at some point! Pity it couldn't have come about over the summer, bit maybe now we can get the money to buy a second striker, who will probably end up being our first striker, given the rate Torres gets injured at. It's painful looking at some of them up there. NGog is wojus, Babel has the ability of a lampost and Dirk Kuyt is a Labrador.

Seeing as this is the soccer thread...just posting about Rooney. Hard to know how I feel about him. TBH, I'd spent the money already, so thinking he was gone, but he's not...its hard to know what to make of it.
If it was just a play for money, he got it, but at what cost.
So long as we don't sink as low as the scum.

No club deserves to be called a name like that for supporting their own, the reaction of the fans when Rooney wanted to leave should tell you the type of supporters that those people are.... would you describe them as "scum"??

"Scum" is just United's supporters' nickname for Poolers....its just a bit of banter! Jaysus.
As for the United supporters outside Rooney's house, they are a disgrace and no-one could condone that. I understand how much supporters get emotionally involved in teams - they spend hard-earned cash on a club that pays boyos £100-200k per feckin week! What they look for is a bit of loyalty in return and when it doesn't get reciprocated, they react.
If someone called United scum or me scum for supporting them, do you think I'd give a sh!t? My interest in soccer has waned (pun?) sharply and I find it hard to equate players' desires and goals with my own. Men built like sht brickhouses, falling over every time they're touched. Compare that to Chris Conway playing a final with a dislocated shoulder??
On the Rooney question, there's a thread on redcafe.net, which reflects the polarised reactions of ManU fans to his declarations in the past week and to his re-signing yesterday. The forum doesn't hold back and there can be some quite vicious posts on it.
On a lighter note, did anyone see the Rooney billboards, where one fan scrawled, "If you go to City, you're dead" and on another one, "But if you stay, we wish you and your delightful family all the best in the years to come".
